A party of twelve ladies spent a very enjoyable weekend at Carrickmines Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club at the end of April. Carrickmines were the winners of the Eagle Star large club category in 2004 and as such it is nice to have established a link between our two clubs.

There was plenty of competitive tennis played on the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning with Downshire coming out eventual winners.

Besides the tennis there was plenty of eating and drinking and our thanks go to the ladies of Carrickmines for providing such excellent fayre on both Saturday and Sunday lunchtimes.

All the competitors spent Saturday evening at a lovely Thai restaurant and it was great to mix socially with the opposition. We look forward to returning the hospitality and have invited Carrickmines to visit us next year.
