Following stages in Lisbon and Vigo ( March and June), John headed to the Copa Iberica ITF Masters tournament in Vilamoua in early November for the third and final event of the year. He put in his best performance in the series to reach the Singles semi-final which not only gained him 20 valuable ranking points--to add to the 10 achieved at the Mallorca Open in October--this pushed him to third place in the series and thus secure a place in the Masters Finals in Estoril early next year; a tournament in which the top four qualifiers in each age category compete for the Masters Trophies.

Also in the Algarve, John and his doubles partner Valentina Green ( Lithuania ), clinched the Mixed Doubles title with a 7/6,7/6 win over the number one seeds
